Carter's Pond, mentioned on page 148, was drained in March 2000.
Obviously, this meant no Purple Gallinules there in the summer of 2000. However, as of
February 2001, the pond has refilled, and has had some ducks on it. I don't
know if the gallinules will return in the summer of 2001, but will try to
get an update on this web site as soon as someone can look this spring.
