The Georgia Ornithological Society Checklist and Records Committee requests that documentation be submitted for the following species. The list is separated into three sections: Regular (appear on the Regular Checklist, not necessarily regular in occurrence), Provisional, and Hypothetical. The Regular and Provisional categories were taken from the Records Committee's latest announcement (released July 2003) and amended October 2007 to incorporate recently accepted species. The Hypothetical category is described as any species not previously recorded in the State of Georgia, or those which appear in the Hypothetical section of the Annotated Checklist of Georgia Birds (Occasional Publication No. 14, Georgia Ornithological Society, 2003). Taxonomic order for the following lists is based on the American Ornithologists' Union's The A.O.U. Check-list of North American Birds, 7th Edition (1998) and incorporates changes made in the 42nd, 43rd, 44th, 45th, 46th, 47th and 48th Supplements to the Check-list, as published in The Auk 117: 847-858 (2000); 119:897-906 (2002); 120:923-932 (2003); 121:985-995 (2004); 122:1026-1031 (2005); 123:926-936 (2006); 124:1109–1115 (2007). |
