By far, the rarest bird for this evening's report, Sandy Pangle from north Georgia has reported a family of BEWICK'S WREN at the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park in Catoosa and Walker Counties. The birds were seen and heard on May 21st, two birds were seen again on May 29th, and two adults and two immature birds were seen again on July 24th. This is the first sighting of the species in about 18 or 19 years, once confirmed and accepted. Directions are as follows, find the Chickamuaga National Battlefield Park, [DeLorme: p. 12, grid B-4], in north Georgia. From the Visitor Center, go .2 miles south and turn left on Alexander Bridge Road. Go 1.3 miles and turn left on Brotherton Road. Go .5 miles and park at the sign for Bragg's Headquarters. The birds were seen near the cannons between .3 and .5 miles.

Jim Flynn and Earl Horn reported finding a LARK SPARROW in Turner County, near the community of Rebecca. Turner County is north of Tifton and south of Cordelle along I-75 in south Georgia. See DeLorme page 51 Grid D6, the bird was found on CR 72 just north of the intersection with CR 49. It was on a powerline on the west side of CR72 and flew across the road in to a crop field. This is not a record early date but is only six days after a record early date. It is a winter plumaged bird, it is not a full adult breeding plumaged bird. See a report posted at:
