On May 28th 4 Red Crossbills were seen at Brasstown Bald. Also observed at
Brasstown Bald, were Winter Wren, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Chestnut-sided
Warblers, Dark-eyed Juncos, and Canada Warblers. On May 27th a Common Raven was
recorded from this location.
On May 29th the following birds were seen on Ivy Log Gap Road. Hooded,
Chestnut-sided, Kentucky, Blackburnian, Black-throated Green and Worm-eating
Warblers, American Redstarts, Scarlet Tanagers, Yellow-billed Cuckoo and Ruffed
Grouse. The highlight of the morning was the Ruffed Grouse that stood for about
5 minutes in the middle of the road. We did not hear or see any Cerulean
Warblers. The Willow Flycatcher was at the Ingles shopping center (which has
become easier to see from the parking lot of the United Community Bank)

Five Willow Flycatchers were seen on 5/24 at the Harold Hefner River Park in
Ellijay in Gilmer County. And 1 more Willow Flycatcher was seen at Grizzle Creek
Rd / GA Hwy 60. Two Red-breasted Nuthatches were seen at Overflow Creek Rd, and
one was seen at Billingsley Creek Rd; and 2 more were seen at Coleman River Rd

Two WIILOW FLYCATCHERS were located on 23 May at Little Mulberry Park in
Gwinnett County, between mile marker 1.6 and 1.7. Also seen here was YELLOW
WARBLER, and mating SCARLET TANAGERS, an unusual southerly location for breeding
of this species in the state.

A couple of new locations for GRAY KINGBIRD in the Tybee Island area were
reported on 21 May.

Two Wilson's Phalarope were found in Bartow County on 21 May but were not
re-located the following two days. However, on 23 May up to 11 WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPERS have been found at this location on Taff Rd along with other more
common shorebirds. On adjacent Brandon Farm Rd, at least 5 DICKCISSELS have been
seen and heard along with 4-5 GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS on both roads, BLUE GROSBEAK,
and 30-40 BOBOLINKS are still present in the field with the powerlines (also
where the Dickcissels are usually found).

and 2 more were found at Harold Hefner River Park, Ellijay, Gilmer County.
DICKCISSELS were seen on Pine Chapel Rd. in Gordon County on 5/15/08 This
species was also seen on Brandon Farms Rd in Bartow County on 5/21/08
Nine STILT SANDPIPERS were seen at EL Huie in Clayton County on Sunday 5/18/08.
A pair of SWALLOW-TAILED KITES were seen south of Dublin at the intersection of
Highway 257 and the Dublin-Eastman Highway.
ALDER FLYCATCHERS and GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH were recorded in Catoosa County on
5/12-13.
