Three(!) ALDER FLYCATCHERS were seen in Habersham Co. Aug 29. A
BUFF- BREASTED SANDPIPER was also present at one of these locations
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS have also been showing at the Bostwick Sod
Farm recently, with as many as 6 on 29 Aug
An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was reported from Burke Co. near Augusta
29 Aug. A WILSON'S PHALAROPE was reported from the same site 28 Aug.
SWALLOW-TAILED and MISSISSIPPI KITES continue from the site NE of
Monroe in NE Walton Co., but only 2 Missisippis and 1 S-T was seen
today.

3 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were seen 22 Aug at sod farm next to
Riverside Dr, off Hwy 113, in Bartow Co.
The WILSON'S PHALAROPE seen 21 and 22 Aug at the Botswick sod farm
SWALLOW-TAILED and MISSISSIPPI KITES continue in the Walton Co.

A WILSON'S PHALAROPE was seen 21 Aug at the Bostwick sod farm along
with various other shorebirds including a SANDERLING. The Phalarope
departed when the shorebirds were flushed by an early MERLIN.
SWALLOW-TAILED and MISSISSIPPI KITES were last reported from the
site NE of Monroe in NE Walton Co. Aug 20, but may still be about.
A LARK SPARROW was reported 19 Aug from the golf course on Jekyll
Is. Ask permission to bird on the golf course. There are also lots
of wading birds at the same location.
Migrants warblers are beginning to show up in the Atlanta area. In
particular, CERULEAN WARBLERS are being seen at Kennessaw Mtn
Battelefield Pk in Cobb Co.

Two BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCKS were seen 16 Aug at the Paradise
Fish Camp in Lowdnes Co. (near Valdosta). This is a new site for

Two ROSEATE SPOONBILLS were reported 14 Aug well inland in Laurens
Co. at the intersection of I-16 and GA Hwy 26.
WILSON'S PHALAROPE 15 Aug from Taff Rd in Bartow Co.
4 SANDHILL CRANES (unusual this time of year, except the breeding
population in the extreme S of the state) were seen over Temple
(Carroll Co.) 15 Aug

A SNOWY PLOVER, which would be the 3rd state record, was reported
from the very S end of Cumberland Island 6 Aug, with 5 PIPING PLOVER

A rare inland PIPING PLOVER was seen 5 Aug on Pine Chapel Rd in
Gordon Co., but was not seen 6 Aug
A SWALLOW-TAILED KITE was seen in DeKalb and Rockdale Co. at Panola
Mtn SP 7 Aug
2 white morph REDDISH EGRETS were seen at Gould's inlet on St.
Simon's Is Aug. This is the best site in the state to see this
species without using watercraft. However, more than one is unusual
and birds are usually of the dark morph.
A TRICOLORED HERON was seen far inland in NW GA at the Arrowhead
EEC, Floyd Co., 2 Aug, but was not found again 7 Aug (however, there
are lots of other wading birds there, including an imm.
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, and it could still be around).

but up to 60 KITES of both spp. have been seen recently:
Migrating shorebirds include UPLAND SANDPIPERS and a BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPER, along with Pectoral and Least Sandpipers at the
Marshallville Sod Farm (which is by far the most reliable location
in the state for Upland):
A SANDERLING - rare inland - was reported from Warner Robbins
An ANHINGA was seen at the GA International Horse Park (Rockdale
