Charles Ratliff discovered a hay field along Astondale Rd. near Bishop, Oconee Co. on the morning of Wednesday, 2 August 2006, that was being used as a foraging area for two Swallow-tailed Kites. The field was also being frequented by over 30 Mississippi Kites. Many observers stopped by the see these aerial acrobats over the next week, including Steve Slayton, who provided these photos of both species. |
