First discovered by Reed Bingham State Park personnel, led by Ranger Chet Powell, during the week of 4 June 2006, this Limpkin is the second record for the species at this location (the first being May 2003, GCRC record number 2003-13).

This particular bird has been observed feeding on snails along the Little River between the lake and the park's Red Roberts Boat Landing along Roundtree Bridge Rd. to the north.

Special thanks to Park Naturalist Cindy Reittinger for alerting the birding community via GABO-L.
