On February 11,2007, a pelagic trip went out from Tybee Island, Georgia, leaving the dock around 6:30 A.M. Around 11 A.M. a large flock of Bonaparte’s Gull seen. As the boat approached the flock Russ Wigh noticed one bird with a dark underwing flying with the Bonaparte’s Gulls. The flock settled on the water, giving the participants the opportunity to study the field marks. The bird then took flight and flew along the port side, showing the blackish underwing and the white wingtips. The bird was identified as a Little Gull, accidental in Georgia with three records. If accepted by the Records Committee, this sighting will represent the fourth Georgia record for the species..
