Max Medley of Dalton, GA, located this Black-throated Gray Warbler in the brushy areas that line the Re-regulation Lake near the Carters Lake powerhouse early in the afternoon on Friday, 20 October 2006.  Joshua Spence of Chatsworth, GA, relocated the bird early that evening and spread the word to the rest of the Georgia birding community.  Many birders were able to observe it over the following weekend.

A Black-throated Gray Warbler is a rare find anywhere in Georgia, and this female represents a first record for the Georgia mountains.
